Are you finding it difficult to log in to your Facebook account? Do you see the error message “Your account is temporarily locked on Facebook”?

If so, then yes you have been locked out of and prevented access to your Facebook account. Although this is temporary, there is no telling how long it will take.

Most users have been searching for a way to resolve this error message but their attempts have proved futile.

Although this is a security message, Facebook gives no clue as to why they decided to lock your account. In this article, you will learn why Facebook locks your account and how to fix it.

Why Is My Facebook Account Temporarily Locked?

The complete error message is “We’ve detected suspicious activity on your Facebook account and have temporarily locked it as a security measure”.

This is a result of Facebook’s strict security protocols. Facebook may lock your account when said account is flagged for phishing or suspected of suspicious activity.

Facebook classifies the following as suspicious activities: sending a lot of friend requests, having a fake account, joining too many groups, requesting too many recovery codes, and violating their community guidelines.

For some users though, they are innocently locked out of their accounts, and following the prompts to recover the account does not work.
