But there&#8217;s a workaround for you to enable a dark theme on the site, and since there&#8217;s no way to turn on or off dark mode on Instagram PC we&#8217;ve got to use other means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Using extension<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To change from a white background color scheme to a dark theme you need any of these browser extensions;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/stylus\/clngdbkpkpeebahjckkjfobafhncgmne?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stylus<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nighteye.app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Night Eye<\/a>,&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/darkreader.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dark Reader<\/a>. These extensions can change your white background into black, giving you a nice-looking dark mode on the web, even if it is not the official Instagram web dark mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Using URL with dark parameter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On your computer, you can enable dark mode by using a URL parameter. Copy and paste the URL into the browser address bar, after the page loads, the parameter will tell the site to use a dark theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/?theme=dark<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: The link temporarily enables dark mode, and if you reload the site, you will lose it.
