Wait, is every social media company now creating a new section to get users out of TikTok. With the like of TikTok competitors now replicating the short-form video — Instagram Reel and YouTube Shorts want to join the 15-second video platform. And the company hopes to gain more traction since it already has a good amount of uses.
“Shorts is a new short-form video experience for creators and artists who want to shoot short, catchy videos using nothing but their mobile phones.”
The new short-form video YouTube is rolling out for creators is called YouTube Shorts. The feature will first be available in India today and we roll it out to another country in the coming month.
But YouTube Short will only launch in beta mode for the meantime — and will let users, creators and artists make a 15-second video in which you can be able to add music from a large library of songs, and YouTube plans to add more.
“We also recently rolled-out a prominent new spot for the create icon on Android, starting in India. We’ll continue to expand to iOS devices and in more countries soon. You can also expect more creation features in the coming months.” a YouTube spokesperson said in a blog post.
The YouTube Short video will appear in a dedicated section like the YouTube stories. YouTube says more features will be added and look forward to expanding to more countries a few months from now.
Just when the US decided to ban TikTok in the country — Instagram wanted to fill the space of TikTok with Reel by embedding it on the platform with a 15-second video and some cool music to add but I think the company isn’t making and wave but time will tell.
