Hey, if you’re a TikTok creator, you’ll probably want to join Spotlight right now, because they are paying creators every day, starting today — but for those with the highest unique view. Spotlight is an in-app built in Snapchat, you can use it to create a 60-second long video, and it has its tab in Snapchat.
Snapchat has just launched a competitor to TikTok, yeah, because it’s the most popular short video platform, and many want to copy from them — and that’s the reason Instagram launches Reel.
It’s no more stories, but short videos that are making the wave, and they a cut from it — but they’re doing something different. “We designed Spotlight to entertain our community while living up to Snapchat values.”
Snapchat is now ready to compete with TikTok because this might just be the game-changer. One, because they’re paying creators, and Instagram Reel doesn’t — maybe TikTok do, but not everyone.
The company announced that they’ll be giving up to $1 million between the most popular creators on the app every day. So, if you got a viral video on the app, you’ll sure do get a pie from the $1 million. Snap says that for creators to earn money, they “must be 16 or older” and the Snaps you submit to Spotlight must follow their content guidelines and Terms.
The amount you’ll receive is based on the number of unique views you get on your video, and it doesn’t base on your subscribers. So, if you get a unique view on a video, you’ll get paid for it. And the best thing is that you’ll continue earning from the video if it remains popular for several days.
The videos you’ll see in the tab can be up to 60 seconds long. The spotlight will be available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and France, with more countries to get the new update soon.
