Google is replacing Play Music with YouTube Music, the announcement came today. In September all access will be revoked and stop user in Zealand and South Africa, while in October other region will not be able to stream from the Google Play Music app.
In December 2020, all access will be shut down completely and you won’t be able to migrate your Google Play Music library to YouTube Music. And no purchase of music will be made from the app starting late this month.
Starting this August, all users will not be able to purchase or pre-order music and download music from the Google Play Music app.
All user that has previously purchase music from the app will have the opportunity to transfer their music libraries from Google Play Music to YouTube Music before December 2020. So you have the time to transfer all your playlist, uploads, purchases, likes before December.
Google has put in place a simple transfer tool for you to migrate all of your Play Music Purchase and library to YouTube Music. Google promised plenty of notice to its user in advance of Play Music shutting down.
