With Apple new development — we might see a new iPhone 12 release in early 2021. According to a report by Business Insider, Apple is planning to release a 4G-only version of the iPhone 12.
A research note from Wedbush Securities stated that “Apple may release a cheaper version of the iPhone 12 that comes with 4G connectivity instead of support for 5G network”.
The 4G only version is coming after the 5G models release. So instead of the over price 5G iPhone you can wait for the 4G version in early next year to get it. The 4G-only version could launch in February time frame as report stated.
The 4G-only version will be cheaper than the 5G models releasing this year. And it could be lower than $800.
Will might see similar features with the 5G models, the difference will probably be the network. With this year release going all in 5G while the said 4G version will be available early next year.
Apple is rumor to release four models of the iPhone 12 this fall but the high and low end device will be release separately. All models come with 5G but only one of the model get the fastest 5G connectivity.
Apple release date for the iPhone 12 is reportedly dated at October — few weeks after the launch event take place.
With the 4G-only version you can bet a long lasting battery than the 5G models except of course Apple decided to reduce the battery for the 4G variant.
If Apple release a cheaper 4G iPhone in early 2021, iPhone 12 sales might go up.
