If a user does not open the app within 8 hours Snapchat won’t update their location.

The app tracks users’ location only when they are on the app.

Fix 1: Force Stop App & Restart Snapchat

If your location just suddenly stops showing on Snap Map, you can force stop Snapchat and restart the app again.

This will allow all previous running stuff in the background to be stopped, then everything will be refreshed.

To force stop and restart the Snapchat app on Android: On the home screen, or the app drawer. Long tap Snapchat until the small menu appears.

Click on the small “App notification icon” and tap on Force Stop. Then open the Snapchat app again, this should work fine.
