Messenger doesn’t have end-to-end encryption by default, but you can turn it on by starting a secret conversation in the app. Messenger secret conversation has been introduced for users to protect their conversation.

But the feature isn’t popular, and most people don’t know if this kind of feature even exists in the app. With secret conversations, even Facebook won’t be able to read your messages.

If you care about privacy so much, using Messenger’s secret conversation should be a must for you if you don’t want someone peeping on your chat. You can also enable disappearing messages to let the message disappear after a certain time has reached.

The secret conversation works the same way Telegram secret chats work, a new chat will be created for you and the recipient.

Facebook Messenger comes with interesting features, and the feel when you type makes its user’s experience top-notch. But privacy and security are a problem because Facebook-owned the app.

With their privacy issues, trusting the app is one thing, so you’ll have to take this step if you don’t want to get ads based on what you’re discussing.

Facebook has been accused of poor data security for its users, the messaging app is not encrypted by default, except you use the secret conversation to protect and secure your messages.

Note: If you want to use secret conversations, you can only access it through the mobile application. The feature is not available on the website.
