Back-Up your iPhone

Updating your iPhone version, you’ll have to back up your device to iCloud or your computer so you have a copy of your important information.

If you didn’t turn on automatic updates when you first set up your iPhone, do the following.

1. Open your Settings app on your iPhone or iPad device and go to the General page.

2. On the Software Update page, tap Automatic Updates and turn on Download iOS Updates and Install iOS Updates.

Update iPhone and iPad versions using your computer

You can update your iPhone and iPad through your Mac or Windows computer. On a Mac running macOS 10.15 or newer, open Finder. On Windows or Mac running macOS 10.14 or earlier, open iTunes.

1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer. If you’re on a PC, open iTunes. On a Mac, open Finder.

2. If you haven’t allowed it already, allow your computer to Trust your iPhone or iPad.

3. Click on General in Finder. And on iTunes, click Library, and then click the iPhone icon on the left side of the toolbar. Then tap on Summary.
