How To Stop Instagram From Saving Posted Photos On Android To The Camera Roll
If you uploaded a photo to Instagram, I don’t see why you will also have another copy of the photo you uploaded on the app to your device, because the photo-sharing app decided you need one.
You can easily stop Instagram saving photos on Android, you just need to turn off saved photos and saved posted videos. So here is how to stop Instagram from saving posts to the camera roll.
Step 1: Open Instagram
Go to your Instagram app, then tap on your profile picture in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap Settings
Click on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner, and click on Settings on the open bottom menu.
Step 3: Go To the Original Post
Click on Account, then tap on Original Posts. Toggle off original posts, saved posted photos, and saved posted videos.
After you turn off Save Original posts, new photos you take with the Instagram app camera will not be saved to your camera roll.
If you turn off saved posted photos and saved posted videos, photos, and videos you post on your page will not be saved on your Android device’s camera roll.
How To Stop Instagram From Saving Posted Photos On iPhone To The Camera Roll
To stop Instagram from saving posted photos to your iPhone camera roll isn’t the same as using an Android phone.
Since there is no way for you to turn off saved posted photos. You will have to remove Instagram access from your Photos app.
Step 1: Open Instagram
Go to your Instagram app, then tap on your profile picture in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap Settings
Click on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner, and click on Settings on the open bottom menu.
Step 3: Go To Original Photos
Click on Account, then tap on Original photos and toggle it off.
After you turn off Save Original photos, new photos you take with the Instagram camera app will not be uploaded to your camera roll. But once you post from your camera roll will still be saved.
Disable Photo Permissions For Instagram
To disable Instagram from accessing your Photos app go to your iPhone Settings, scroll down and tap on Instagram and then select Photos.
Select Never, and Instagram will not be able to access your camera roll. Instagram won’t be able to save photos to your device. But you won’t be able to post on Instagram from your camera roll either.
To use your camera roll to post to Instagram chose Read and Write, and when you post a photo it will be saved to your camera roll.
If you want to keep using your camera roll to post to Instagram you need to be removing the duplicate photos manually inside your Photos app.
How To Stop Instagram From Saving Stories To Camera Roll
Step 1: Open Instagram
To stop Instagram from saving stories you posted go to your Instagram app, then tap on your profile picture in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap Settings
Click on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner, and click on Settings on the open bottom menu.
Step 3: Tap Privacy
Click on Privacy, then tap on Story. And then toggle off Save story to Gallery under the Saving section.

You can take and post photos and videos you recorded from the Instagram app’s camera.
With their built-in picture editing tool, you will be able to edit the photos and post them on your page.
