WhatsApp is a messaging app that allows its users, to chat either (text, video, and voice) and share media’s individually or to groups. WhatsApp has a feature that allows your friends to view your online status. It shows the last time you were active, and if you’re currently online.

Sometimes you might want to cut your annoying friends off, but with WhatsApp “Last seen” feature you can protect your privacy and hide from your annoying friends. If you don’t like WhatsApp, you could try other WhatsApp alternatives.

Hiding your online WhatsApp status is the best way to stay away from people that disturbed your peace. I know, right!. You could be hiding from your friend or your boss.

If you do not want your contacts on WhatsApp to know your online status each time you come online, or the last time you visit the messaging app, you can hide your online status from the app settings.

Hide WhatsApp online status

By default, WhatsApp allows your contacts to view your online status. It shows if you’re online or the last time you visit. From the WhatsApp settings on both Android and iPhone, you can decide to hide your last seen.

By hiding your last seen you would avoid people you don’t want to reply to or messages. Whatever the reason it might be, if you want to hide your online status on WhatsApp then follow these steps to hide your online status.

1. Open WhatsApp, if you are using an iPhone or iPad tap on “settings” in the bottom bar of your screen, while for Android device, tap the three dots at the top right-hand corner of your screen and tap “settings.”

2. Now in the “settings” tap on “Account.”

3. Next, tap on “Privacy” It can be seen in the image below.

3. Tap the “Last seen” and select from the options .

4. You have three options to choose from, choose “Nobody” to hide your last seen from everyone.

After choosing an option, your last seen could be visible to only your contacts or nobody at all, depending on the selection you just made.

If you hide your last seen from your contact or anyone on WhatsApp, you wouldn’t be able to see your contacts last seen if you choose to hide it from everyone. That means, Nobody will be able to see your last seen and you won’t be able to see theirs.
