If you don’t want to use Google — here is another alternative that can help you look up your computer or mobile IP address.
To know your computer or mobile IP address go to your preferred web browser of choice and go to https://whatismyip.com, the website will lookup and display your IP address for you.
The website shows you your IP address where its says ‘Your Public IPv4 is’. And the last numbers are your mobile or computer public IP address.
If you have IPv6 address instead of IPv4 it will still display it in the field — but will be longer with string of characters.
Find your private IP address on Windows
To find your private IP address on windows computer it through command prompt.
You probably know how to open command prompt, if you don’t know how to do that simply search for ‘cmd’ or ‘command prompt ’ in the search box of your windows computer — it work on all windows version, once the search is done you see numbers of related apps that match your query.
Open command prompt app and type ‘ipconfig’ then you local IP address will be display inline with ‘IPv4 Address’ — you need to be connected to a network for your IP address to show.
So it quite easy to look up your local IP in windows, close the command prompt app once you’re done.

To find your private IP address in a Mac computer is different from a windows computer. If you want to find your private IP address on a Mac you need to be connected to a network.
If you’re a Mac user to find the private IP you need to go to ‘System Preferences’, and then click on ‘Network’.
Once your open your network tab select the network you are connected to and under ‘Status’ you’ll see the private IP address.
So you now know how to look up for your public and private IP address.
