During the Covid-19 pandemic, millions of people have taken their meetings online through videoconferencing platforms such a Zoom. Most people use Zoom to make video calls but they don’t know that their background can be changed from where you are, to a customized or virtual background.
Right now meeting are currently being held using Zoom. Event and webinars are taking place. You might want to attend but your background isn’t that cool. With Zoom, you can change your background to a virtual one, so that when you’re attending an event or chatting your background won’t be displayed, but the virtual one you selected.
With this feature, you can design a new background and add it to your virtual collection. Here’s how you can change your Zoom background to a virtual background using your computer or mobile phone device.
Change your Zoom background using your mobile
1. Log into your account and join a meeting, tap on the three dots located at the bottom right of your screen to open the “more” menu.
2. Then tap on the virtual background to select or upload a new background from your device.
3. From the default options, you can select the preset virtual background that is available or upload your customized background.
Change your Zoom background on your desktop
If you’re using a Mac or a PC computer, you can change your Zoom background from the web or the desktop app.
- Open Zoom in desktop
On your desktop in the Zoom app, click on your profile located in the top right corner of your screen, and then click on Settings.
- Click on virtual background
Then on the menu located on the left side, click on the virtual background.
- Choose a virtual background
Then you will be provided with a few default background options provided by Zoom, which includes the outer space scene and a few others. You can then choose one of those by clicking on it, and automatically it will change your screen.
- Upload your own background
You can also upload a picture from your desktop to use as your background, still on the Virtual Background Page, tap on the (+) icon which is located next to where it says choose a virtual background, and upload the image you’d like to use as your background.
Zoom virtual backgrounds can help your work from anywhere in the world, it just needs a little makeover from the back that required all the customization. It allows the meeting to be fun and enjoyable as well. Have fun and work smart.
