How to enable dark mode for Instagram

Does dark mode save battery? yeah, it does. Dark mode helps your eyes from breaking, because of too many lights. Using dark mode can also save your battery and still make it easier on the eyes at night. And it can take your reading to go smoothly without having an issue or having an eye problem. With a dark background and a white text on Instagram mobile is the way to cool to use at night.

Not forgetting why all top brand is adding dark mode to their apps; to make it easier for the user to operate at night. From changing your background color scheme to a black one you presume to be saving your battery. YouTube, Slack, Twitter, Evernote, Google Keep, and Gmail all have dark mode—and Instagram is not let out, because you can now enable dark mode for Instagram on your smartphone.

But, you must know that the Instagram dark node isn't available for all Android and iOS versions, it's only available for the latest development of Android and iOS, Android 10 and iOS 13–the dark mode isn't yet available to everyone using an older version.

To enjoy the Instagram dark mode you need to be running the latest version of the mobile operating system—that is, Android 10 or iOS 13 – to use the dark mode. There's no way to activate dark mode within Instagram itself, it can only be enabled when you turn on the system-wide display dark theme.

All you have to do is make sure you download the latest version of Instagram and that your iPhone is running iOS 13 and your Android phone is running Android 10.

If you have one of those operating systems, Instagram will change the color automatically when you activate the device's system-wide dark mode.

Enable dark mode for Instagram mobile

Download the latest version of Instagram, open your phone's settings, scroll down to 'Display' for Android and for iOS select 'Display and brightness',
activate the 'Dark theme' toggle for Android and tap 'Dark' to change the theme for iOS wide display and launch Instagram to see the new theme.

Dark mode on Instagram respects the system-wide dark mode settings on both operating systems, so if you switch to dark mode in iOS 13 or Android 10, your Instagram app will also switch to dark mode. There is no way to toggle Instagram’s dark mode on and off in the app itself.

By turning on Dark Mode in your device’s settings, you may see Dark Mode activated on several apps, not just Instagram, and there is no only deactivate Instagram dark mode if you which to turn it back to default go to your mobile settings

Instagram dark mode for desktop

To change from a white background color scheme to a dark theme you need a browser extension called Stylus, Night Eye or Dark Reader. This extension can change your white background into black give you a nice looking dark mode on the web, even if it not the official Instagram web dark mode.

We are using chrome browser, so in Chrome, go to the Chrome Web Store and search one of these extensions Stylus, Dark Reader or Night Eye and install the extension to your web browser.
