How to install and manage Google Chrome extensions

Your Chrome browser can be customizable by adding an extension from the Chrome Web Store. The extension is only available for Google Chrome Computer version just like the chrome theme isn’t available for mobile yet, it will be considered for Google to allow extension available for mobile devices.

Because installing an extension is not that hard some of which might not be available because of some cases—some of which are only available in Chromebook. You can install the Chrome extensions in all computer devices from Mac to PC.

With the Google Chrome desktop computer, they are a different collection of chrome extensions, which you can find in the Chrome Web Store, Google creates some of which and also third parties. Some extensions required permission to change your site settings.

How to install a new chrome extension

Extensions are found in the Chrome Web Store, so to install extensions on Google Chrome browser, you have to go to the Chrome Web Store, find any extension you want, once you decided on the perfect extension for your browser Click “Add to Chrome”.

To use the extension you just install click on the icon at the right of the address bar.

Some extensions will let you know if they need certain permissions or data. To approve, click “Enable”

How to change extensions permission

As I have described before that some extension might need permission from you in other to read and change site data. If you decide to stop extension from accessing your site data, you can change the permission at any time. 

To change an extension permission open Chrome in your computer, in your toolbar right-click any extension you want to change.

Hover over “This Can Read and Change Site Data.” and then, decide which permission to give the extension.

To add access to a specific site

To add or remove access to a specific site go to the top right, click More More and then More Tools and then Extensions, select your prefer extension and click on Details.

Under Permissions you can add or remove a site, to add a site Click Add. If this option doesn’t show up the change “Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit” to On specific sites.

To remove access to a specific site

To the right of the site, tap More More and then Remove.

Manage your extensions.

At the top right, click More More and then More Tools and then Extensions.

Uninstall an extension

To delete an extension go to your address bar, look for the extension’s icon you want to uninstall, right-click the icon and select “Remove from Chrome”.

If you don’t see the extension’s icon:

At the top right, click More More and then More Tools and then Extensions. Find the extension you want to remove, click Remove.

When You Click the Extension: It turns on the extension only when you click it. This only allows the extension to access the current site in the open tab or window. If you close the tab or window, you’ll have to click the extension to turn it on again. 

On [current site]: Allow the extension to automatically read and change data on the current site.

On all sites: Allow the extension to automatically read and change data on all sites.<
