Facebook had group stories, well there are shutting it down after just months of introducing the stories feature to Facebook Groups. The action was first reported by Matt Navara on Friday and was later confirmed by Facebook.

The Facebook Group stories feature has been available since last December, which allow members and administrator to post photos or short clip video that is dismissed after 24 hours. Any existing group stories will be deleted and users won’t be able to post any new ones.

Facebook will take down the groups stories feature on September 26, at 9AM Pacific Time.

“We’re sun-setting group stories because we want to make sure that features in groups enable people to connect in fun and useful ways, and we’re always looking at ways to improve the overall experience for communities on Facebook,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement to CNET.

The stories feature was first introduce by Snapchat which current has about 190 million daily active user–and Facebook has taken over with all it platform boosting it up to 500 million daily active user.

Why we they shut down the stories feature in groups, I bet it still in use in some places God knows where, but I think most user won’t even notice it if it has be there or not.
